Why You Should Be Careful About E-Cigarettes

The largest of the dangers of e-cigarettes lies in the fact that they are substituting cigarette smoking. The problem with e-cigs is they do not contain any of the harmful chemicals within cigarettes, so the smokers usually do not go through the same tar, nicotine and other harmful chemicals that are contained in cigarettes. However, because the harmful chemicals are not present, no-one really knows whether or not people are still receiving any of those dangerous effects. It’s possible that the quantity of vaporizing harmful chemical compounds is less with e-cigs, but that does not mean that they’re safe. A recently available study showed that there were four times the quantity of benzene and three times the amount of acrylamide in the vapor of e-cigs, in comparison to cigarette smoking.
While there are a number of concerns about the long term effects on the lungs of people that use e-cigs, the greatest danger of all to both smoker and the nonsmoker is the short term damage to the respiratory system. The electronic cigarette vapor has a variety of ingredients, some of that may irritate the lungs and cause coughing and wheezing, while some are in fact toxic to the lungs. One of the most common herbs found in vaporizers is gold. Gold is really a highly toxic element, that is also used in medications to take care of certain types of cancer. There were studies that show gold escalates the threat of premature death in smokers, so that it would be wise to avoid using any products which contain gold.

Because of these findings, many people are beginning to elect to quit smoking, alongside changing their diet and exercising more often. Many teens today are also turning to e-cigs in an effort to smoke less. With all of the dangers that we now know exist when working with e-cigs, it seems that quitting cold turkey is best option for many people.
